Real Techniques Brushes

Hello everyone!

I have been using the cheapest brushes (ecotools) that you can buy in Boots since my interest in cosmetics began so I thought it was about time that I upgraded! I now have a lovely brand new set of brushes from the well known Real Techniques range by Samantha Chapman.

This is how they are packaged, the boxes are a devil to get into but well worth it!

They come with these fantastic cases that double up as stands so not only can you protect all your brushes, you can also see them!

The brushes feel extremely luxurious as the soft rubber on the end feels amazing and the bristles are so soft.

I got two sets and one other brush.

This is the eye shadow starter kit set which I received for my birthday. I am so excited to try these out as I haven't yet because they looked too nice and clean to mess up!

In this set you get:

Deluxe Crease Brush
Base Eyeshadow Brush
Brow Brush
Pixel-point Eyeliner Brush
Accent Brush

The second set I got was the core collection and the extra brush is the expert face brush.

Again the brushes are so soft and luxurious, a big step up from my old brushes. They look like they will work fantastically.

In this set you get:
Buffing Brush
Contour Brush
Pointed Foundation Brush
Detailer Brush

With regards to costs, I purchased these in Boots but I am aware that other websites sell them for cheaper such as Amazon.

Boots
Eye Shadow Starter Kit: £21.99
Core Collection: £21.99
Expert Face Brush: £9.99
Total: £53.97

Amazon
Eye Shadow Starter Kit: £16.62
Core Collection: £18.12
Expert Face Brush: £9.99
Total: £44.73

Clicking on the prices will take you to the product on the stated website.

They are costly in the short term but as long as they are looked after well, they should last a good few years.

Also they are something you would use every day so in my opinion they are a great investment!

Do you have any of these brushes? What do you think of them? Any other brushes you use and recommend?

See you in the next post!

    1. Hi Chloe!

The starter set (purple ones) were £21.99. The expert face brush was £9.99. And the core collection (orange ones) were £21.99 too. So all these brushes for £53.97. I got them all in Boots but I believe you can get them a little cheaper if you look around online. On Amazon the core collection is £18.12 and the starter set is £16.62 with the expert face brush still £9.99 making a total on Amazon of £44.73 so a saving of £9.24. I bought mine in Boots pretty impulsively for my holiday but had researched them before.

They are pricey, obviously £40 to £50 on make up brushes sounds a lot but as long as you look after them they will last a good few years and they're something you use pretty much every day. I think they're a good investment!

      Hope this helps!

    1. Hey Leah!

I don't know why I could never find it in myself to buy nicer brushes after all the make up I own! It was a good investment although I must admit it was kind of a birthday money splurge! Haha, but who doesn't love it when that happens?!

I would totally recommend getting some good brushes that don't break the bank, they really improve the look of your make up and save time and you use them every day so you know they wouldn't go to waste at all!

I'm glad you like my blog! I'll be sure to check yours out!

  4. I love these brushes! I'm someone that's not afraid to splurge on expensive make up brushes, but these are still my favourite, despite not being high end! I love that they're colour coded as well, I don't know why, I just find it really appealing! xx

    1. Hey Sarah!

I've still not ventured into high end make up brushes etc. yet! Worried that if I ever do, I won't go back and I'm not sure my purse can take it on a student budget!

I love that they're colour coded, such a simple idea but really effective. I also love that the names are written on the side.

Going to check out your blog now!

    1. Hi Sylvia!

They have so much stuff on Amazon that I always see if anything is on there before buying anything online! Always tend to be at least £2-3 cheaper than elsewhere!

The brushes are great and just learning which ones I like for different things is always fun!
